Recent Research Presentations

We are currently making plans for the various conferences where we will be presenting our research over the next few months. Watch this space if you would like to join us!

In the meantime, recent papers given include the following:


  • Philipp Späth spoke about the project and presented a selection of his results under the title ‘Big Data und Open Data – Neue wissenspolitische Arrangements in Zeiten der Smart City?’ at a workshop on Assessing Big Data, organised by the Technical University of Dortmund on March 13, 2017.


  • Simon Joss presented a paper on ‘Smart cities UK: between standardization and emergent local practices’ at the American Association of Geographers’ annual meeting in Boston (4 April 2017). Abstract


  • We also had a strong presence at the 2017 International Conference on China Urban Development in London (5-6 May 2017). The four researchers on our China team (May Tan-Mullins, Ali Cheshmehzangi, Crison Chien, and Linjun Xie), and Martin de Jong, from our Netherlands team, all presented papers.  Conference website and programme
