New book: Inside Smart Cities

Inside Smart Cities, a new book edited by our project colleague Federico Caprotti along with Andrew Karvonen and Federico Cugurullo, is out today, published by Routledge.

The book uses 23 empirically detailed case studies to provide real-world evidence on how local authorities, small and medium enterprises, corporations, utility providers and civil society groups are implementing smart city technologies at the neighbourhood, city and regional scales. The cases are taken from both the Global North and the Global South.

It includes chapters on Wuhan, China (by Rob Cowley, Federico Caprotti, Michele Ferretti and Chen Zhong), Bristol and Manchester in the UK (by Kerry Burton, Andrew Karvonen and Federico Caprotti), and a foreword by Simon Joss.
